Understanding Your Family -- Building Your Own Baobab!

Have you ever wondered what part of Africa you share ancestry with?

One of our JUMOKE DNA contest entrants will soon find out!

Africa's indigenous baobab trees look upside down according to legend, as if their branches were roots sprawling out for all to see. Maybe this is why baobabs can live for thousands of years! In the spirit of the baobab, African Ancestry has sponsored this wonderful DNA Family Tree contest to encourage our children to represent their own roots by creating family trees. Congratulations to each entrant!

"Wisdom is like a Baobab Tree; no one individual can embrace it", therefore the task must be shared

Voting Rules:

To vote for the best Baobab, select your favorite from this online gallery of entries. Some photos have been altered to mask the entrants identity. Vote as often as you like for your favorites. Voting ends February 16th.

All entrants are winners!

Entries with the most votes will receive priority in selecting age group gifts. Your child will select his/her prize based on voting results at a designated time in the Africa Room. The grand prize winner will be randomly selected from the pool of age group entries on February 17th during the JUMOKE closing ceremony. Your child(ren) must be present to claim your age group prizes and if randomly drawn, his/her grand prize of a African Ancestry Test Kit.
